Me: Emma - What have you been up to?
Emma: Um... absolutely nothing.
Me: Emma. I know you're lying. What have you been up to?
Emma: I was just goofing around and I signed up for Pottermore and it is the most awesome website in the whole wide world.
Me: What else?
Emma: I've been doing this crazy math thingie that is super, super easy.
Me: What grade are you in?
Emma: 3rd grade, and it's almost the end of the school year, and I can't wait 'til summer.
Me: Who's your teacher?
Emma: Mom, you know who my teacher is. (exasperated sigh) Mrs. Warner
Me: What have you been reading?
Emma: Um... my Josefina books (American Doll books)
Me: Anything else?
Emma: I've been playing this awesome moniac (pronounced moon-yak, Emma came up with the spelling) game with Jack.
Me: Is Jack a good moniac?
Emma: It depends on what mood he's in.
Jack: I think it does, too
Me: What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Emma: I'm most looking forward to camping in the backyard and roasting marshmallows and hotdogs and playing my violin around the campfire.
Um... mom (as she's watching Mom type camp fire) campfire is a compound word.
Me: Oh.
Me: What do you want to do tonight?
Emma: read, read, read, read, read...
So - this was our family home evening.
Hope you enjoyed :-D
