I know I've been totally sucking at keeping up this blog, but it might be something the kids and I try to do together...
Jack's LOVING Kindergarten.
He also got his first grown-up tooth...
Emma reads faster than we can keep up...
Thank goodness for used bookstores...
The playroom is a mess.
The downstairs is filled with Christmas decorations.
And I'm really, really hoping I'm not sick :-/
We'll be so happy if the wind ever stops blowing and if the snow every starts COMING...
More with pictures today or tomorrow...
Or with my track record... before next month...

Hatcher's Pass... Because we're there a LOT
We got SO much snow last year, that there's STILL snow up in Hatcher's. My guess is that not all the snow will disappear this summer...
We went up on this trip with James, his wife Grace, Julie and her new little girl, me, my friend Heather, and the five kids that come with us. Also - our photographer - my mom.

Way back around Christmas...
This is just going to be a ridiculous mess of pictures we took on our Christmas/New Year's Eve Trip to the cabin...

What Emma's Been Up To
Me: Emma - What have you been up to?
Emma: Um... absolutely nothing.
Me: Emma. I know you're lying. What have you been up to?
Emma: I was just goofing around and I signed up for Pottermore and it is the most awesome website in the whole wide world.
Me: What else?
Emma: I've been doing this crazy math thingie that is super, super easy.
Me: What grade are you in?
Emma: 3rd grade, and it's almost the end of the school year, and I can't wait 'til summer.
Me: Who's your teacher?
Emma: Mom, you know who my teacher is. (exasperated sigh) Mrs. Warner
Me: What have you been reading?
Emma: Um... my Josefina books (American Doll books)
Me: Anything else?
Emma: I've been playing this awesome moniac (pronounced moon-yak, Emma came up with the spelling) game with Jack.
Me: Is Jack a good moniac?
Emma: It depends on what mood he's in.
Jack: I think it does, too
Me: What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Emma: I'm most looking forward to camping in the backyard and roasting marshmallows and hotdogs and playing my violin around the campfire.
Um... mom (as she's watching Mom type camp fire) campfire is a compound word.
Me: Oh.
Me: What do you want to do tonight?
Emma: read, read, read, read, read...
So - this was our family home evening.
Hope you enjoyed :-D

What Jack's Been Up To
Jack what have you been up to?
Been playing with the bin all day long.
The what?
The bin.
What bin?
My dirty clothes bin! (exasperated)
What else?
I like to play with my legos.
At spring we like to see the moose, and we like to play outside.
What else?
We go to the cabin sometimes and sleep on the bunk beds.
What's your favorite part of going to the cabin?
umm-mmm (he shrugs)
Do you go school?
Yeah. I go to school.
Can you tell me about your school?
We learn!
What else?
Play
What else?
Play outside and count.
Is there anything else you want to say?
Yes.
What's that?
I LOVE to play at home!
Is that everything?
NO!
What else?
Jack got distracted by his pretzels and the "crystal ball" which is really a clear, plastic ball we got for a buck at Old Navy.
And now you're sort of updated on Jack. Sort of.

We're Going
We're going to try something new.
For FHE, or Sunday afternoons, we're going to recap what our family did over the past week.
We're starting tonight.
We'll see how it goes...
