Some of the Signs of Spring in Alaska

1. Climbing tree roots that have been under snow for what feels like 2 years. This gives Emma a fair vantage point to find the muddiest mud puddles.

2. Wearing mismatched mud boots because they usually get wet one at a time, why would you possibly change both???
3. Eating dirty snow from a planting spade. Seriously.
4. Being able to stay warm wearing only a down vest and NO MITTENS!!!

5. Reading books while walking through muddy mud puddles.
6. The Sun brings warmer weather instead of colder weather.

7. The streets are dusty but your yard is still so muddy you're tracking it into the house.
8. Mosquitoes. Yes, already. Emma thinks she likes them and calls to them when she's outside. She was trying to feed them mud with her dad. He explained that they bite you and drink your blood, she thinks that's pretty cool too.

This is how you know it's spring in Alaska.
