Working

I finally did a book of our Utah/Seattle trip from LAST MAY.
While so doing I thought about making a fun little book for each of my kids this spring. Emma loves to read the photo books I made of her as a baby.
I ran across this fun picture of Jack and I on our Whitehorse trip in 2007.
How time flies.

Playing

I had a meeting the other night and left Mike home with the kids.
Here's the product of their intense labors.

I especially love the "statues" in their castle.

Good quality blocks are worth every penny.

Spring Break

Spring Break this year was one of the coldest weeks we've had this winter. SO, luckily my friend Heather has a military ID (it comes with husbands who are serving) and we threw all of our 5 kids (which ONE of us could technically be the parent of - scary) and headed to post for their FREE indoor playground. Totally worth the drive to Anchorage.

Ahhh, the joys of winter

This drift has been twice this high, this time I didn't think to look for one when I pulled out, it took a bit of power to get out of the garage.

And even more to get out of the driveway.

Better Late Than Never

My granddad celebrated one of those eighty-something birthdays a while ago.  Our family shot in one of the two nice restaurants in town (when I REALLY miss living in Las Vegas) turned out better than expected.  Pretty happy stuff.

In case you've never met my Granddad, he's a smart guy with a great sense of humor and a talent for writing.  He also drives a pretty hot car, I think I did a post about that one a LONG time ago.  If I wasn't so lazy, I'd post a link.

MOM!

Yesterday we had a lazy day.  We went nowhere.  You have to realize that for this Perry family, that's an unusual thing.  So unusual that I don't remember the last time it happened.  It was blissful.  We started our day with two kids in our bed watching cartoons.  Jack, loves to snuggle, he's my little snuggler, Emma only snuggles if she sees that Jack is snuggling with someone, otherwise, she'd rather be left alone.
So, yesterday morning, the four of us are "snuggling" on mom and dad's bed and I give Jack this big squeeze and he says, "Stop Mom!  You'll squeeze me to parts!"
Squeeze me to parts.  I love it.  Mike and I got a good laugh out of that one, of course it was cuter in his little Jack voice - but now it's the thing around here.
"Mom!  I want you to squeeze me to parts!"
I am really going to miss that.
They're old enough now - past diapers and baby stuff - for me to want to stop the growing for a little while. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that.

Our Version of the Matching Game

There are a LOT of pieces in this matching game. It would take Mike and I a while to match all of those if they were upside down. Fortunately, Jack and I scoff at silly things like rules.
We pulled them out a few at a time and looked for matches. Even with this simplified version of the game, he still got bored before we finished.
It's okay, he helped pick up the pieces.

Unlike his sister, Jack loves to have his picture taken. If he sees me with my camera, he'll look right at me saying "Cheese!"
