We were having a hard time coming up with a way to protect both Emma's head and her eyes while snowmachining without getting one of those heavy children's helmets. One morning I was talking with a friend of mine with a 4 year old in hockey (they start them young up here) and I thought AH-HA! So we went down and got this great helmet. Emma in her enthusiasm for getting something new wanted to wear it. She also found her Nemo swim suit while we were going through her clothes and you get what we see here.
I know, you're thinking, why did Jolene put snow on her cereal?? Well, it's not snow. It's my milk. Our brand new lovely fridge broke so the contents were neatly placed on the porch. Some things went in a cooler, not to keep them cool, but to keep them from freezing. Unfortunately it was VERY cold last night and this is what my milk looked like after I beat the milk container to get some out. I had cereal with milk slush this morning. Not recommended.
I'm posting this not because it's a fabulous picture of Jack but because I ran out of pajamas for him last night and started digging around in the bin of clothes that are WAY too big. I realize that he has a little extra room in it but it's a 12 month outfit. Jack is now two and a half months. No wonder my neck hurts and my biceps are more fabulous daily.
I sent Mike to the store the other day to get some thermometers. I was thinking of those cheap 2 dollar ones that you can distribute throughout the house to see which rooms are cooler and one for outside to see how cold it is. This is what he comes back with. You can see it's negative zero outside (we always get a kick out of that). This is actually the warmest it's been in nearly a week. The part that really gets me is the little person. Apparently his clothes change depending on the weather. This is depressing, his clothes have not changed since we got him in early November and probably will NEVER change given where we live. We'll be wearing shorts WAY before this little guy does.
